MEET ALEX:
May 2010
Alex was the first street dog that Miranda met. After a series of losses, Miranda founded Bailey's Bones and Wishes  and Alex was the first dog served. Alex was traveling with a couple who were struggling to find work when their sweet friend needed care, time and attention. Neither of Alex's 'parents' had the coaching or life skills they needed to manage caring for their small family unit and looking for work simultaneously. After talking with a few people with their companion pets, Miranda started to see a pattern: These individuals are desiring employment and stability, and most are very capable physically and mentally. They take excellent care of their animals, oftentimes better care than they give themselves. However, they sometimes lack the life skills needed to gain employment in today's market. Another obstacle they often run into is pet care. These animals keep their people going, they are often the only family a person has. Both the person and their companion pet offer love and affection, warmth, purpose, safety, etc... These observations sparked the development of the educational branch of Bailey's Bones and Wishes.
